Let me help you TURN CONFLICT INTO COOPERATION

Are you tired of yelling and repeating the same thing over and over?
Would you like to decrease conflict and increase cooperation at home?

The Respectful Parents, Respectful Kids parenting series
will help you discover 7 Keys
that will open the door to mutual respect and cooperation at home…

and transform your experience of parenting from a struggle to a joy!

Hi, I’m Sherri Boles-Rogers, a certified Parenting Coach and Family Communication Specialist (and more importantly—a mom), and I will be facilitating a new live class parenting series in Atlanta based on the book, Respectful Parents, Respectful Kids, co-authored by Sura Hart and Victoria Kindle Hodson.

Do you ever….

  • scream and yell at your children and then feel guilty afterwards?
  • dread going through the “pressure-cooker” moments each and every day?
(you know the ones—getting out the door in the morning, regrouping after work/school, and at bedtime)
  • feel overwhelmed and stressed and operating from an empty cup?
  • feel resentful that you give and give and never seem to get much in return?
  • nag and make threats to try to get your kids to cooperate?
  • sometimes not enjoy being a mom (or a dad)?
  • wish you had a magic wand to get some peace and ease?

You’re not alone!  But parenting doesn’t have to be this way.  With a little bit of awareness, some new techniques to practice,  and the wisdom and support of other committed parents--you can bring the fun and enjoyment back into parenting.

In this 8-week class series you will learn how to:

  • parent proactively so that you're spending your time enjoying your kids instead of putting out fires
  • get to the root of the problem when your child is “acting out”
  • teach your kids to resolve their own conflicts without you around
  • make your home a “no-fault zone” where your kids feel safe and nurtured
  • express yourself in a way that’s more likely to have others say yes to your requests
  • learn games and fun activities that you can use at home to teach your children problem-solving and peace-making skills
  • reclaim your confidence as a parent knowing that whatever comes up, you can handle it
"This exceptional book is the ‘deepest dive’ I’ve ever found in cultivating genuine mutual respect between parents and children. The 7 Keys provide specific, well-documented exercises and practical strategies that address family challenges, opening doors that are often closed, and give everyone the freedom to really enjoy one another." - Stephen R. Covey, author, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

What to Expect?

The class series is divided into 8 weekly sessions and you are requested to read a chapter a week from the book prior to each class.  In class, we will discuss the Key concept for the week and then move into hands-on experiential learning through targeted games, worksheets, listening partnerships, role-plays, and other engaging activities.  Come with a fun open spirit and go home equipped with many tools to transform conflict into cooperation.
  • Foundation of Respect

Session I will cover the premises and foundational concepts of “respect.”  What exactly does “respect” mean and how do you create a culture of respect in your home?

  • Parent with Purpose

Session 2 helps you align with your deepest reasons for parenting and your deepest desires for your children.

  • See the Needs Behind Every Action

Session 3 takes the mystery out of why children act the way they do and introduces a needs-focused approach to parenting.

  • Create Safety, Trust, & Belonging

Session 4 draws upon scientific research to confirm the crucial role that physical and emotional safety plays in children’s development.

  • Inspire Giving

Session 5 invites you to identify your child’s gifts, receive them gratefully, and encourage a mutual flow of giving and receiving.

  • Use a Language of Respect

Session 6 walks you, step by step, through a communication process showing how you can translate all criticism and blame into respectful expression of needs.

  • Learn Together As You Go

Session 7 encourages you to explore and co-create with your children, with the confidence that there are many strategies to meet needs.

  • Make Your Home A No-Fault Zone

Session 8 reveals the true source of conflict and the path you can take to transform conflict situations into heartfelt connections.

"Many parents won't give up punishment because they think the only alternative is permissiveness.  Other parents don't understand the long-term dangers of permissiveness, but they sure don't want to be punitive.  This delightful book shows parents how to get the best results for their children with respectful parenting tools that are neither punitive nor permissive."
- Jane Nelson, Ed.D., co-author of the Positive Discipline series
